White House Calls Kaptur's Remarks 'Reprehensible'

WASHINGTON (GOPUSA News) -- The recent comments by Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), where she compared Usama bin Laden to America's founding fathers, have now drawn a response from the White House.

"One could say that Usama bin Laden and these non-nation-state fighters with religious purpose are very similar to those kind of atypical revolutionaries that helped to cast off the British crown," Rep. Kaptur told workshop attendees.

When asked by GOPUSA News for comment about Kaptur's statements, White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer said, "Those remarks are reprehensible."

Fleischer emphasized his denouncement of Kaptur's comments saying, "I know of no basis for anybody to have said that or to believe in it."

This woman's comment is reprehensible and so is the fact that the liberal media has largely ignored this story.

That's because they think the same way.

Sounds like two for two today. Congress Critters MORON and Kaptar. George Washington and Jews. All they need to mention now is Patty Bin Laden for a triple crown.

Thanks for keeping us informed!

(Further excerpts:)

Kaptur's press release stated, "It appears my statement has been purposefully taken out of context."

She means word got out.

But an article published in The Toronto Blade on March 8, reported that "not only does she not regret comparing Usama bin Laden to American Revolutionary War figures, she's happy for a greater platform to criticize the Bush administration's handling of the brewing conflict of Iraq."

I think she does deserve a larger platform - a scaffold with a noose.

What exactly is reprehensible? Can anyone explain?

Moran said that 'the Jewish community' was responsible for some of the current war fever. If this is 'a just war', then, more power to the Jewish community. Shouldn't the Jewish community be recognized and celebrated?

Have Kaptur or her defenders explained what the context was that allegedly has been misrepresented?

The original comment was: "One could say that Usama bin Laden and these non-nation-state fighters with religious purpose are very similar to those kind of atypical revolutionaries that helped to cast off the British crown,"

Jefferson, Madison etc. were not motivated by a religious purpose. Yes, they justified some of their philosophy by referencing God. But their motivation was freedom from a remote imperalistic ruler.

The Founding Fathers were creating a nation state. Not operating as a freelance international protection racket like OBL & co.
