I sent this article to the author, I'm also thinking about contacting alot of other people about this inexcusable act;
Dear Debbie,
I wanted to thank you for writing this article exposing the myth
that the anti war movement is inherently "as patriotic as you are."
You shined the light on an action I'm certain will be rationalized,
but because of the unambiguous way you wrote it, cannot be denied.
At no point would anyone I know who hated Clinton consider do anything
remotely similar to the hatefilled anti American actions of these
extremests. Hopefully because this was on Drudge it will bring you
attention from all over the country, you deserve it.
I am writing to ask you to follow up on La Habra Police Capt. John
Rees, the dithering, incompetent excuse for an officer of the law
who enabled this willful malicious act of hate by standing by. I
know you were probably planning on writing a follow up about this
story or him, but if not please consider it. It is very important
that a remonstration against this cowardly excusemaker come to public
attention by appearing in the press, and you look to be the only
person involved capable of do that since this happened over the
weekend and this is the first I'd heard of it.
Please follow up on Rees and these extremists, it is the only practical
way we non-extremists can support our troops.

"For this to be vandalism, there had to be an ill-will intent,' he said.
No ill-will here officer, just a little "target practice".

I just went to this site and spoke to the lady that put up the 9/11 memorial (she was trying to repair it) her name is Tracey Chandler (Email Sunburnttc@aol.com)
Per Tracey there were 87 U.S flags on the display that were burnt
I asked her were people could mail flags to help replace them and she told to have people to sent them sent them to the owner of the property (a great guy per Tracey)
Aaron Winer Certified Home Improvements 2249 W. Whittier Blvd Ste. A La Habra CA 90631
Tracey showed me Pic of the display she had set up and maintained (it had been there the last 18 Mo.) It was a truly massive labor of love that she will rebuild Tracey will email the pic that I will post when I get them
I will post more details later
But to all freeper out thet help me get out the worl and lets hele Tracey rebuild

However, although officers witnessed the vandalism Saturday afternoon, police did not arrest three people seen damaging the display because they were "exercising the same freedom of speech that the people who put up the flags were,' La Habra Police Capt. John Rees said Monday. "For this to be vandalism, there had to be an ill-will intent,' he said.
Wrong. The people who put the flags there were putting their own property up. The scum who vandalised them were destroying someone else's property. Free speech protections do not extend to physical acts of destruction of property not your own. This town needs to get some new police that actually know the law.

I know people in that area of Whittier and La Habra. The people in the entire area have privately maintained that memorial since 911.
I just want to thank all those in the area that supported this memorial. I now understand it's all being put back up.......

To all peace protestors out there who wish to protest the the upcoming/actual (depending on your timing) war in Iraq by burning the flag, please observe the following rules of etiquette.
1. Purchase your own flag, flammable liquid and ignition source.
2. Soak flag in flammable liquid before arriving at the protest (to reduce the chance of splashing fuel onto non-inflammatory protestors).
3. Squeeze any excess liquid from flag before arriving at the protest (see rule 2).
4. Make sure you are standing on a fire proof surface and at a safe distance from other protestors and spectators.
5. Wrap yourself in flag before igniting.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

Fight the Red Menace:
The "International Womens' Day" protests last weekend were people marching in support of another Communist holiday (check into the origins of the day).

'Antiwar' Is Anti-American
On this semianniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks--they happened 18 months ago today--a story from La Habra, Calif., tells you all you need to know about the "antiwar" movement. The Whittier Daily News reports:
Antiwar protesters burned and ripped up flags, flowers and patriotic signs at a Sept. 11 memorial that residents erected on a fence along Whittier Boulevard days after the terrorist attacks in 2001 and have maintained ever since.
One Les Howard, a sociology professor at Whittier College tells the news that, as the paper puts it, "the incident might be an indication of some confusion among people trying to stop a possible war against Iraq but uncertain how to express their sentiments." Leave it to a sociology prof to explain away an act of pure hatred as the work of well-intentioned but mixed-up folks.
