Hehe. Although Jesse does have much life in him, his son is adopted. He adopted a 7 year old disabled boy when he was 60.

Sounds to me like a compromise should be reached. He should sell the land to the state for fair market value, with a stipulation that he can continue to live on it and have it undisturbed for the remainder of his life. The project can wait a decade or two, and the disabled son will need the trust fund after his father's gone.
