[history]
Michael Waltrip makes no apology for urging citizens to ''support our President'' during a TV interview following last Sunday's race at Las Vegas.
Nor should he.
If a women's basketball player at Manhattanville College can use her sport to make a political statement

NASCAR drivers never forget what makes this country great when they succeed. Unlike your average self hating Hollwierd star.

NASCAR is hot dogs, apple pie, and the 4th of July. It is the one truly American sport that's left. And I would guess that almost 100% of the NASCAR participants and their fans agree with Michael Waltrip, and not only that, are conservative, right-wingers and proud of it. This is a sport whose participants and fans unapologetically wave the American flag (and the Confederate flag too, for that matter) and are unashamedly Christian. This is a sport whose fans greeted Presidents Reagan and Bush with loud cheers, and Clinton with resounding boo's. This is also a sport that is growing in popularity as others are fading. For those who love America and waving the flag and have never been to a NASCAR race, do yourself a favor and go, you will be glad you did. You'll feel like you're at a 4th of July parade and it'll make you proud.

Now, come on. You're not a fan of any motor racing? Give it a chance. One of the best Winston Cup drivers ever was from our state....Alan Kulwicki from Greenfield, WI. Oh, come on. Give it a chance. Granted, Winston Cup ("WC") racing has gotten SO commercialized since we've started following it nigh onto 30+ years ago, but it is good.

***Their leftist sportswriters manage to slip in a few snide swipes at Bush in Republicans in sports articles every chance they get.****
Yes...like terrence Moore who views EVERYTHING as a race issue and Mike Bradley is an anject idiot. Almost any other town has beter sports reporting than the AJC.

He also wasn't bashful about praising God at Daytona. And also mentioning that we need to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
Thanks Mike

Yes, I am very proud to be a fan of the driver of the #15 NAPA Chevrolet, which didn't run so good today.

(I thought it was obvious that it was sarcasm, sorry)Oh, thank goodness. That's all I've done today is defend NASCAR. The more popular it gets, the more enemies that are lining up against it. Liberals and nuts can't stand to see someone else have a good time without trying to tear it down. :^)

The Chevy teams may be inconsistant this year as they gather notes from track to track. They should get more consistant in the second half of the year when they revisit tracks that have two dates per year.

Yes he certainly is and he is right too. If the other people can mouth their opinions then so can everyone else. Perhaps the "worm has turned." Thanks Mr. Waltrip! :)

OK, OK. I give. I won't complain when Hubby is glued to the television instead of doing any of a dozen little chores that need to be done around the house. Well...I'll try not to complain.

I know of Kulwicki well. I live in Greenfield and he is something of an icon here. I can name NASCAR drivers, I probably can even tell you whather they are 'good' or not, but I don't know anything about the cars, don't want to know, and think watching them go 'round and 'round is just boring. That doesn't mean I'm
against motor racing, just not my cup 'o tea.
Now NFL football, or college hoops, that's another story! And BTW, I'm a mom.

Followed the thread. There has to be a better way to show sarcasm around here than to belatedly mention that something was sarcasm.
As for Chevy, you know NASCAR's golden rule; when signs of dominance shows up, squash it.

(Or maybe the plural of "chassis" is "chassi", like "cacti"...)
