France is not an ally. They haven't ever been an ally except by accident during the Revolutionary War. Even during the Normandy landings they were already starting to complain about Americans. When the Germans were driven back to the Rhine, it was just Americans this and Americans that, and why did they have to make such a mess, etc. But France let the Americans in anyway, just like they let the Germans in earlier.

Secretary of State Colin Powell said Sunday that the United States had no plans to extend a March 17 deadline and would use "military force" if Iraq did not disarm by then.

It's a shame that we ended up in the U.N. swamp in the first place, but it looks like Bush knows how to get us out without skipping a beat. Every day that goes by is another day closer to the deadline. Everyone sees that we're going in anyway, so after a few more days the diplomatic pace will be at warp speed. If France wants to strut and preen in the limelight for a few more days, go ahead. It won't matter.

I think that Dominique Vilepainintherear guy going to Africa this week to lobby is a sign that they are afraid that they just may lose the dare. They may have to veto the UNSC into oblivion or look mighty foolish abstaining.

I really believe it's going to happen in just one week. They told us in church today if we needed to do anything in Mexico, to get it done this week because next week, they're sealing the border. I haven't seen anything else about it ---but it was a strange feeling to hear that.
