Guard unit leaves SB armory, may go to Korea By RICK McLAUGHLIN, Staff Writer SAN BERNARDINO
A local National Guard unit that has trained for Korean warfare and has a connection with an Army division in South Korea has been sent to a Central California base to prepare for possible deployment.
Several hundred soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 185th Armor Task Force left their armory on Third Street in San Bernardino on Tuesday and Wednesday for the National Guard's Camp Roberts training center north of Paso Robles.

Has anyone heard of this call-up? I stumbled on to this article. This is big! Debunks the RAT's on Pres. Bush's action in all arenas.

No I haven't. I do know we sent bombers to Guam to deter North Korea recently.

This is news.
I think the 30 ship loads of equipment off the coast of Turkey should just scoot on over to South Korea.

I wish the news were less specific.

I agree!
I think GWB is lurking his ships in case they are needed. It's better to have ships loaded with troops and heavy equipment near the high seas, than waiting several weeks to depart.
Remember, the USS Abraham Lincoln was in Perth on a ports-of-call several weeks ago. Nowhere near Iraq, but close to Taiwan and Korea!

If all North Korea really wants is a promise from us that we wont invade them, then I say no problem. We could simply make a deal saying they must shut down their nuclear program and promise not to invade the south and in turn we wont invade the north. We could even pull back our troops. If they dont agree to these two things then all bets are off, this really doesnt seem all that complicated.
