Iran's largest student organization parts with 'Reformers and Khatami'

This week "The Office for Fostering Unity" (OFU), the most important among the various student movements, which has been loyal to President Khatami and the reform movement, finally decided to cut itself off the "2nd of Khordad Front" (the front which forms an umbrella for some 18 parties and organizations which supported, in 1997, the election of Khatami). In an official statement the OFU harshly attacked the "reformist" camp, emphasizing that the student movement has totally given up the possibility that the reformists would ever act to realize the will of the people. The statement further stresses that it has been proven that even the reformists betrayed the people's hopes and they are unable to satisfy the will of the people. The OFU expressed "deep regret" for "the reformists using the people in order to improve their own economic situation and forgetting the peoples' hopes." The OFU further stated that in light of the decision to dissociate themselves from the reformists' front, they would now act to form a "Democracy Seekers' Front", who will endeavor to realize the will of the people.

Is this a reliable source, and if so, what do you think?

Well considering the reformist lost miserably in recent municiple elections because only 10 percent showed in tehran voted. It reenforces the distancing of the people from the reformists because they've felt betrayed. Although there have been some reforms in Iran they haven't been quick enough or radical enough for the people.

The source is reliable because the same story was posted in Reuters-World.
