There is, no comparison to this video game and what some of you have been through. The reality that can be gained from this game, should be.

If some have suggestions for other PS2 war stategy games, only post them if you played Ghost Recon and they top it for realism.

GR for Windoze is great. Best game out there.

The only topper out there (OK, actually a match) is Medal Of Honor Allied Assault.

Is that one where you land at Normandy on the first mission?

I really like Ghost Recon, though I play it on the computer (I think it's easier with a mouse and keyboard). If you like computer games, America's Army: Operations is a good one (that's the game put out by the US Army to encourage enlistment)

No thanks! I never want to relive it, virtually or literally.

I have played a bit with GR but the inability to actually have real people has always put me off.

Medal of Honor had it going, but the physics were a bit odd to me, and the lack of recoil took quite a bit of the realism away.

Have you ever looked at Day of Defeat?

It is a Mod to Half Life that replaces all of the characters and backgrounds with WW2. Weapons, Uniforms the works.

It is only played on line, which to me, is the future of Gaming.

Playing aginst any sort of AI pales once you have played aginst people.

Check it out, all you need is Half life (about 10 bucks) and a connection.

www.dayofdefeatmod.com

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,

On the PC, that's the third mission. It's tough. You earn a medal just for finishing that level.

It's a good game. The online play is fun too.

Shut it down... I can write the code, but failed at admin moderator. I offered it to any military back ground people who wanted it free of charge, but with no takers, I pulled the plug.

The most realistic war game...easy Mrs. Packman, cocktail table edition; so you can sit and drink your beer while you play.

I agree. There is a couple things about the game(GR) that is educational however. Like going around a corner head into a group of enemy soldiers and realizing you only had two rounds left in your magazine(you die). I like the idea of manual reloading in games. Keeps you on your toes.

Thanks, Tim, but I can't think of any game that can hold my attention long enough to even learn the rules!

Sounds like video games have come a long way since I played Wolfenstein 3-D back in 1994.

It really rocks on the PC. I was playing that ALL the TIME...The expansion packs are really good too, I like Island Thunder. Excellent.

But now I am completely addicted to GTR2002, a race car sim for the PC puttogether by enthusiasts and running as an add-on to F1-2002. Excellent stuff.

SOCOM US Navy Seals is good. Plus it has a online ability, where you can team up with real people as either a terrorist or Seal.
