NEW YORK -- News junkies who watched the Gulf War unfold on CNN a little over a decade ago will have a new medium to satisfy their cravings in the event of an American invasion of Iraq.
For the first time since the Internet became a fixture of American life, the stage has been set for a huge international story that could expose the strengths and weaknesses of the Web as a purveyor of breaking news.

Mitch Gelman was my old boss at CNNSI.com - not a bad guy; less political than most, with his primarily sports background. He knows his stuff.

This time I don't even HAVE TV! The internet gives me everything I need. I can even go to Kazaa to get videos of the activity on 9/11.
I remember being at work with a cassette radio player wired to my ear. This time it will be Freerepublic, which all my cubemates discovered on 9/11. It became everyones news source, even over CNN.com, etc.

I've heard that there's a version of Kazaa that has no spyware and no popups. Do you have the url?

The prime function of the www during GW2 will be to gather news, outside the war, that the broadcast media must bump from it's coverage to present war news.

The biggest role for the Internet in the war? It will be a place for people to discuss news that's provided by traditional news media, and for those same people to then claim they're replacing the traditional news media. (See: Glenn Reynolds, et al.)

Could this be lending to the Media Frenzy to shoot from the Left??
The Main Stream Media is desperate to distort reality. because the Audience isn't even tuning-in to TV News any more!
