To my young Gyrene friend named Jason, who just left Gitmo and is on his way as we write:
May you have the strength of Samson, the wisdom of Solomon, the courage of Joshua, the faith of Job and the salvation of Jesus Christ to guide you, and may you come home safe to us.
To Misty, my niece, waiting on her call:
God knew you in the womb and still holds you dear.
I bounced you on my knee and cherished your laughs of glee.
You know if there were any way possible this old uncle would take your place in a heartbeat.
But then I'd be cheating you out of being a part of the greatest military force the world has ever seen, and I'd be robbing you of the privilege of defending the greatest nation on earth.
As in all the wars that have gone before, you will do your duty of fighting and we will do our duty of supporting your efforts and praying for your safe return.
May God bless you and keep you.
God bless and have mercy on TexasCowboy's friend Jason.
