CBS is setting up an NCAA Tournament game plan should the U.S.-Iraq conflict heat up in mid-March. CBS would shift into coverage of the war and move the tournament to one of its cable corporate siblings in the Viacom family. Among the siblings are TNN, MTV and Nickelodeon. All are available to approximately 81 percent of the country. The most likely home would be TNN (The National Network), CBS Sports boss Sean McManus said this week.
Still, it's possible that some games could wind up on Nickelodeon ( NCAA at Night?). That and this report from The Dallas Morning News' Barry Horn

Naw, just have the play-by-play and the color commentators switch their attention to the live feed from Baghdad...
"Ooh, that's GOTTA hurt, Saddam!"

Naw, just have the play-by-play and the color commentators switch their attention to the live feed from Baghdad... If I can track it down - there was a video on the web somewhere where someone took the opening credits music from CBS Sports' college football coverage and ran it over video of opening credits from CBS' & ABC's Gulf War coverage...

(Video shows US troops hoisting the flag over the Kabul Embassy)
"...and the agony of defeat!"
(Video footage of the AC-130 strike that's all over the web)

ha - I worked for the NCAA while in KS city - now they're in Indianapolis....you wouldn't believe what misery this month brings to those people...(regarding March Madness - I thought I was on another planet in relation to work).

The NCAA's March Madness can't compete with the real thing.

I can hear CBS complaining about Bush's "ill-timed" war now.
To: mhking
They might as well show the basketball. Sports is the only time I watch this "nitwork". They just can't horn in on Nick. That wouldn't be "for the children", now would it?
OTOH, Dan Rather (Not Be In Baghdad When The Bombs Start A Fallin') needs something to do with his time.
Dan: What's that, Saddam, could you repeat that?
Saddam: OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH!!!

Give NCAA BB to ESPN. CBS sucks at it, like everything else.
