Clinton had his chance to liberate Iraq back in 1998, and he failed to act.

Well now, that -- along with his insistence that we "Mother May I" the UN Security Council before tying our shoes, much less assisting Kuwait -- is something Clinton has in common with Bush I, isn't it?

Neither of whom quite managed to bring to an end -- but rather further embroiled -- our involvement in the Balkans ... the Adults of Bush I's adminstration regretting publicly their handing over the Balkan baton to the Mad Bomber of Sudan when they coulda, shoulda wrapped things up instead.

(Not that Bush II appears to mind overmuch reneging on his promise to pull us out of the ensuing Peacekeeping of an engagement that -- despite all the hype about genocide -- started in order to bomb the Incredibly Shrinking Cox Report off the front page. Guess BOTH Bush I and Albania-Bob Dole were kicking themselves for having stood up during impeachment to argue the actual removal of Clinton would sully the decorum of the semen-stained office.)

It's merely a case of Tweedledum and Tweedledummer from time to time ... particularly where the perpetuation of our presence as Globokop Internationale and Peacekeeper of the Pipelines is concerned.

Thank goodness for the American Public School System (as well as the ability to send old articles down the memory hole) ... else the jig might be up by now.

You sure never tire about your hatred for the Bush's.Why do you dwell so much on things that cannot be changed? Such bitterness will age you considerably.

So, you are angry the job wasn't done in '91, yet would have decried Yankee Imperialism while the tanks rolled to Baghdad. The job will be done this time, so you ought to be grateful for GW to be doing what you wished.

Who do you loathe more, GW or Clinton? There are times, Askel, when if Clinton is getting his just desserts, you have to find some way to exercise your own unique standards of moral equivalence and find a way to tarnish Bush.It isn't a sign of honesty, as the parallels are not accurate.

So sorry to see your friend LaBelle no longer a member of this happy community.I'm sure she will be with us all in spirit as long as you are on FR.I hope you at least got her email addy so you can exchange poetry

I take it you've been unhappy with the leadership of our country for quite some time?

I think I'll just leave it at that, since I'm late to the "party" and wouldn't want to be accused of ganging up on you in any case.
