Hmmm, isn't the Talking Heads concert film called "Stop Making Sense"?

Oh yeah. Though I must admit I like ZZ Top better than Brooks and Dunn. It is remnant of nights past honkytonkin' in Texas.

You can add the guys in Rascal Flatts to the good guys on this issue. They were honored to find out their CD was in the player on board of some bombing runs. I didn't know those birds had CD players.

Thank you! In fact, isn't he the dipwad who did a song praising that treasonous little POS, Johnny Taliban?

You are correct. I am not sure if the lyrics really say anything intelegible at all. I think his publicist took the opportunity to use his drunken diction as a vice to propel this guy into stardom.

I very much doubt Steve even knows about Johnny Taliban, Afghanistan, Iraq or could find the U.S. on a map.

You have two groups of songwriters in Nashville. The hip, tofu eatin,Green Hills crowd......and then there's The Longhorn Steakhouse crowd. The Green Hills bunch have set themselves up a California outpost- I guess they were getting homesick. Walt Wilson is right in his take on things per an earlier post on this thread. Those of us who hang out at "the Horn" were ready to start bombing months ago.

You are right the Bredesean is only fit for the bottom of a bird cage or to wrap fish.

None, however, has had the impact of Alan Jackson's Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning), an anthem of ''faith, hope and love'' that became the iconic song in the wake of 9/11. Alan's song touched the hearts of many, many folks in the wake of 9/11.

February 28, 2003 Baghdad Sean Is At It Again There is a very radical far left, little known satellite network which I will not even name, one of those condescending, pseudo high brow supposedly intellectual outfits who just loves to criticize America.

I was surfing the other day and saw the face of none other than Baghdad Sean Penn, the traitorous little Hollywood hotshot who went to Iraq to try to make America look bad.

He was pointing out that the Iraqi people were in terrible shape, they were being deprived of the essentials of life, food and medicine and such and that the American embargo was the cause of all their ills.

I got so mad I had to change channels. Here is this American citizen, who has reaped rewards far beyond those of 99.9% of the people in this nation, standing there blaming the woes of the Iraqi people on the United States of America.

This is idiocy. Our embargoes have caused this situation. Mr. Penn, did Saddam Hussein have nothing to do with it?

Do you not think that this unspeakable monster and his family live in mansions and indulge their every whim while his people live in abject misery?

Are you naive enough not to know that you were shown exactly what Saddam wanted you to see? Did he show you any of the torture chambers where he tortures little children to obtain confessions from their parents. Did he show you the underground tunnels where he stores his chemical and biological weapons? Did he show you any of the women who have been raped and horribly abused by his maniac son? Don’t you know that even if we lifted the embargo that the major part of the aid would never get to the people, that it would be taken away by Saddam and his henchmen?

What is it about Hollywood that so blinds you people to the evil in the world, why do you insist that the United States is such a terrible nation?

The people of Iraq will only get the things they need when Saddam is six feet under the sand. He is the problem, he is the cause of the misery the Iraqi people are going through.

I did not even hear the words Saddam Hussein come out of your mouth, how can you be so blind? The Iraqi people’s problems didn’t start with the American embargo or even the first Gulf War. They started when Saddam came to power.

Iraq could be a rich and prosperous country if their leader didn’t spend all their resources on military hardware and armies.

What about the billions of dollars he gets from France and Germany and the other countries he has oil deals with? Do you see him spending any of that money on food and medicine for his starving citizens?

How dare you blame Iraq’s problems on the U.S.A. and have the nerve to come back to this country. You should have stayed and used some of the millions of dollars you’ve made in this evil nation to help the Iraqi citizens.

One thing about it Mr. Penn, you will be remembered for a whole lot more than your acting. There will be hundreds of thousands of men and women who proudly wear the uniform of the United States of America who will remember you for a long time. They will remember that you went to an enemy country and gave aid and comfort to not only an enemy, but also one of the most evil people on the face of the earth.

They will remember your words, criticizing the country they love enough to die for.

I wouldn’t be going to any Veterans of Foreign War meetings if I were you, Mr. Penn.

By the way do you remember Jane Fonda?

What do you think?

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

I refuse to listen to the Dixie Chicks now. One of them made a nasty remarks about Toby Keith's "Red, White & Blue" I am assuming based on that, that she is most likely anti-war also.

"There's no subtlety to Darryl Worley's new single Have You Forgotten?...."

Gee. A country singer lacking in subtlety.

Imagine that.

hate to hear that about the Chicks....but more and more I just separate the artist from the song...the athlete from the team, the actor/actress from the movie..because, lets just face it...most celebrities are idiots , arrogant, limosine liberals who as long as their kids don't have to face society and do real work in society, they could care less that crime, terroism, drug use, promiscuity , etc etc

so I don't go to many movies, or buy many cd's but I will rent at Albertsons because on Mondays in our area, you can rent new dvd's for only 99cents....( I'm cheap) and that is just about all most movies are worth...

Dixie chicks are fantastic but if they start openly throwing my values in the gutter...well, they too won't be missed....

Nashville and country music has gone down hill so much since the mass producers came in with the exact notion of taking the "nasal" out of country....they did that by promoting the pretty boys and girls, flavor of the month types....let them have them...

there were a lot of Gore supporters from Nashville/country music the last go around....I never listen to anybody who openly campaigns for the bad guys....look what I did for the careers of Sawyer Brown and the Achy Breaky HEart guy...down the tubes as far as music goes....lol

numerous country artists ... Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Rosanne Cash and Lucinda Williams

Has-beens, wannabes, and never-weres!

Emmylou Harris? You been drinking, sport? That's like saying Louie Armstrong didn't contribute anything to jazz.

Get real.
