Do they log in on drudge as they get stationed or something? Does the 250,000th get a door prize ?

Just what exactly is NOT breaking about this?
This is pretty much a watershed in the build up that weve heard about for sometime now.

I figure the more prep time the lower the casaulites. If the military timing had to do with our impatience we are all in trouble.

THE SOLDIER
It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us the freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
Whose coffion is draped by the flag,
And who allows the protestor to burn the flag!

Just curious, how does this number compare with the number during the first Gulf War? How many American troops? Total allied troops back then? Anyone remember? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks!

Two of the troops are my nephews. I found out just today my other Marine nephew is already there. I don't exactly know where "there" is, though.
May God keep all of these young men safe.

in place? they're in baghdad, dancing on the lifeless bodies of saddam and his sons uday, qusay, and ebay?
if not, they're merely ready to get into place!
which they will no doubt do, with great honor, courage, and heroism, in due course.

Aproximately 500,000 in GWI, so about half the size, and from the improvemnets I hear about about twice as deadly.

(Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with a "4".)

The military knows how many troops we have there. The press does not need to know Crap.

"Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!
You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers in arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the [Iraqi] war machine, the elimination of [Saddam's] tyranny over oppressed peoples, and security for ourselves in a free world...
Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!
I have full confidence in your courage and devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory! Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."

twice as deadly is an understatement. The new anti-armor missles, the new night optics, upgraded GPS, many lessons learned, and most likely the most over looked piece, the payback these guys want to lay down...

Once the $h!t hits the fan over there, I think we're going to see a ton of stuff that no one even thought we had or we'd use. It's gonna be a display to the rest of the world, showing the power of the world's most capable military.
