There's no truer sign of a weak comic than one that requires too many words to get its point across.
This one is an example.

There's no truer sign of a weak comic than one that requires too many words to get its point across. The cartoon would be improved by omitting all the words. The drawing is clever. The words are a sign of a weak mind.

Frankly, most of the editorial cartoons on Yahoo! could use some serious FReeping. Doonesbury's marks are WAY too high. The DUmb and DUmber crowd must be regular voters there.

On the whole, I like Oliphant's cartoons. This isn't one of his best though...

Oliphant is one of about a dozen editorial cartoonists on the Washington ComPost website. Virtually all of the others are relentlessly and virulently anti-Bush and anti-Republican. Oliphant is less consistent--he sometimes makes fun of Democrats.

Agreed. Oli does go after the left on ocassion which is why I get him on my daily MyYahoo.
I won't even look at Doonesbury. He's all pro-left, all the time.
