ATTN Freepers:
I just received this information but have not been able to confirm it. Does anyone know whether or not this is true?
Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986.
The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him.
As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners.
However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands.
The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.
Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by hijacking a commercial airliner and crashing it into and destroying Tower One of the World Trade Center.

I've seen it around. Can't verify it as true. I wouldn't doubt it, though.

This has come up before. It was a different Atta who was involved.

Haven't you posted this one on an almost daily basis for the lats year or so?
Look, the Jews did not do it - the Arabs did it - the RICH Arabs too!
Poor Arabs had nothing to do with this nonsense (and it was a different Atta).

It's possible, I suppose - though if it were true, I'd suspect that the Israelis would have certainly made sure that this was known. Besides, with so many Palestinians lining up to be martyrs for allah, why bother with brining a Saudi in to do the job?

This is posted on FR approximately every day, and has been for months (I do not exaggerate.)
And it's totally, completely, utterly false. It was a different Atta. Absolutely proven, no doubt abou it.
Almost everything of this nature you'll receive in an e-mail is false.
Be wary of believing things merely because you want it to be true.
Btw, Ollie North didn't mention Osama Bin Laden in his testimony in Congress, either, if you get THAT e-mail.

Thanks for the input. I have learned:
1. It was a different Atta who attacked the bus in Israel;
2. Most of the 9-11 hijackers may not have even known of the plan to actually crash the planes;
3. No, this was the first posting I placed asking the question;
4. During the Iran-Contra hearings, the terrorost mentioned was Abu Nidal NOT bin Laden.

This is the first time I had seen it. Glad it's debunked, because when you mention slick willy being involved, it almost sounds credible.

the smoking man(x-files),maybe you are not a fan,
i believe is a different atta,but if same then is clinton fault. one more screw up by clinton.
To: applemac_g4
Because by getting Saudi nationals involved in acts against the US, relations between the two countries become subjected to negative pressures.
