Unless it is an urban legend, Rather has said that if he KNEW of an ambush that would kill American soldiers he WOULD NOT inform anyone of it, prefering to stay "neutral".

I believe You are right about that, I believe He did say that, or something similar.
But I also believe that was before His personal anthrax letter.
That could even make Dan Rather re-think that position.
Or maybe not...Im not saying I am sure He would help out His country, but I do believe it would benefit Him financially, and since He is a liberal, that always trumps thier beliefs.
