"...NEAR SOROSWhile rejuvenating in Sun Valley, Kerry may meet with neighbor George Soros.
The financier and philanthropist -- and outspoken critic of the Bush administration -- recently purchased a 9,000-square-foot 11-bedroom spread close to the Kerry compound.
Just a coincidence, naturally...

"...Meantime, retired general and former Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark said the former terrorism adviser has "enormous credibility" -- and isn't partisan in any way..."
Any reason Wes is sticking his nose into another Kerry media operation other than Wes will be VP? Hmmmm.....
Besides, the non-"partisan" comment is patently ridiculous.
"...ormerly General Wesley Clark's Political Director, Lara Bergthold will serve as the Deputy Political Director and Director of Entertainment Community Outreach [for Kerry campaign]. Before joining the Clark campaign, Bergthold was the co-chair of the Board of People for the American Way and the former executive director of the Hollywood Women's Political Committee.
Kerry Focused on 5 Possible Running Mates, People Say
May 11 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is focusing on five potential running mates, including former party nomination rivals Senator John Edwards and retired General Wesley Clark, according to campaign and party officials familiar with the selection process....
"Sen. Dick Durbin isn't flatly denying he'd run for vice president if Democratic presidential challenger John Kerry asked, but neither does he seem to be holding his breath waiting.
Instead, Durbin is touting four former Kerry primary foes for the No. 2 slot on the Democratic ticket, especially retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark of Arkansas.
"I think what's happened over the last month or two may be a strong argument for Clark," said Durbin, a Springfield Democrat. "I think there's a genuine concern about how we're going to get out of this Iraqi situation and how we're going to deal with the war on terrorism."
Durbin recently mentioned Clark to Kerry's vice presidential search coordinator, Jim Johnson, a Washington, D.C., businessman and former aide to Vice President Walter Mondale. ...
I wish he'd just pick his VP and let the games begin
What was it that Kerry said ... Bring it On???
Wesley's in the Ukraine today. Meeting with President Kuchma and his oligarch son-in-law Victor Pinchuk.
Curious...
Sheesh. I like to see all parties cancel any campaigning until, say, August 1. Really, why not?

Kuchma Assured Clark Ukraine Ready to Further Collaboration with NATO
[June 2, 2004]
http://www.unian.net/eng/news/news-56960.html
President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma emphasizes that Ukraine is read for the further constructive collaboration with NATO. He has said it during a today's meeting with former commander-in-chief of NATO Armed Forces in Europe, ex-presidential candidate for the Democrats in this year's US elections, four-star general Wesley Clark.
According to the press-service of the Ukrainian President, in his turn, W.Clark has announced he has no doubt that Ukraine will become a NATO member in future, because it is a key country for Europe.
Leonid Kuchma has underscored that Ukraine "remembers our collaboration with pleasure". In the opinion of the President, the collaboration with NATO would be outstanding.
In addition, L.Kuchma and W.Clark have discussed international policy, specifically, the situation in Iraq. W.Clark has highly estimated the professionalism of Ukrainian peacekeepers in Iraq. The general has also raised the question of the investment collaboration between Ukraine and USA. In his words, one of the aims of his visit is to interest American businessmen to come to Ukraine. As Leonid Kuchma has emphasized, there are all opportunities for a more active presence of the American business in Ukraine.
In the course of the meeting the sides have also discussed the forthcoming Presidential elections in Ukraine and the United States. As reported earlier by UNIAN, W.Clark is paying a visit in Ukraine on invitation of MP, businessman Victor Pinchuk.

"...Clark answered the question many wanted answered-that he does not intend on receiving the vice presidential nomination. "I've said no," he said. "I do have an interest in helping John Kerry getting elected. I'd like to see John Kerry be our next president. He has a character that's needed to be president. But he has his own process for selecting a vice president." ..."
Would seem to discount my Clark VP theory, but the reporting a little murky.

Ex-Gen. Clark seeks funds to campaign
Washington, DC, Jun. 23 (UPI) -- WesPAC, the political vehicle created for retiring U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark's, has turned to the Internet to raise funds for its efforts.
Clark, who failed to win a single primary during his bid for the Democrats' 2004 presidential nomination, attracted a significant following during his run and is now asking those supporters to finance his fall campaign efforts.
Clark said he needs the funds to campaign for Sen. John F. Kerry, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Actually wespac2004.com has been doing this since april. I've followed it. Clark has almost daily events with congressmen, Kerry fundraisers, etc. He's networking, and perhaps Kerry Kamp is watching him to see if he's improved his speaking skills.
I just saw Clark on CNN argue with a man named "Addelman"
Clark looked good, but as a screen test for JF'nK he might have slipped. He used the French/OPEC/Democrat t.p.'s well, like "no imminent threat" and "working with our European allies." And he started to link AQ to Iran, very smart - bu for a democrat, tough. Then he suggested we should have attacked Iran instead. That threw the other guy nto astonishment.
I think Wes' "Ripper" aspects shone through, to his harm. However, Kerry has some insecurity that he seem macho and military (probably from guilt from lyng about his own creds) so he might like Clark even more.
Weasly may not be in the running. But he's running, nonetheless...
Ken Adelman? Was Ass't Sec'y of Defense during Rumfeld's first tour at the Pentagon. Then, UN Ambassador and Arms Control Director under Reagan. Now affiliated with Tech Central Station.
Has probably forgotten more than even Weasly thinks he knows.
Certainly, while there is a good chance the ayatollahs can be toppled from within, with little more than a nudge from without.
Weasly once again reveals himself as a loose cannon, just a little too quick on the trigger -- a la Pristina.
Alternatively, there was no other way than invasion to bring about the desired outcome in Iraq. From whence we can also pressure (and infiltrate) Iran.
Reimer was right. Clark is a fool.
