My father was in Europe fighting to defend the future enemy of America (France) from the ongoing enemy of America (Germany) during WWII
He said he had it on very good authority that Glenn Miller got into a fistfight with the pilot of the plane- whose wife he was, uh, shtupping. Dad said that the plane landed at its destination sans Miller (tossed out over the channel), and a coverup ensued
Dad was a sober, straightlaced guy, not given to gossip or frivolity. Whether the anecdote is actually true or not, be believed it to be

What was your father's rank?, what kind of specialty or postion did he have? and in what unit or kind of unit was he serving with? And how did he come across this info?
