Posted on 02/28/2003 2:44:08 PM PST by ravingnutter

I just found out today that Rick Santorum has introduced the Partial Birth Abortion Ban. I could not find the announcement in a search on FR and wanted to make sure everyone is aware of this, as it must have happened under the radar with all the war talk going on. Please pray for passage of this legislation. Bill Summary can be found at the Thomas Legislation site (url posted above)...just put "Partial Birth Abortion" in the search engine and follow the links (I don't think it will link to a query, which is where I found it).

Yes, it would be terrible if the government isn't allowed to decide who Constitutional rights apply to and who they don't. Would repealling the 14th ammendment be a step in the right direction?
(If you only think there were 6 PBAs in 2002, how can you think this law is a big deal?)

Oh yeah.. horrible isn't it?

I mean, when the day comes that you can't deliver a baby, all but the face and then dig out it's brains so it's dead on arrival then that's a tyranny!

I thought he was just gonna up and quit in toto actually..

(I am sure I heard that on here somewhere.. )

It's a real shame, allot of our (ahem) "conservatives" could take a lesson from Zell.

2/25 2003.

Also, a libertarisn, which makes his opinion less credible and meaningless when expressed in the way he has done so.

No, it's not..

It's telling them what they can't do to other people's bodies.

And as far as "men" go, I see the child as half theirs.. So I think they should have some say in whether or not women can unilaterally declare war on their half of the child.

If you support PBA, make idiotic sexist arguments and call yourself "conservative" I think you have some soul searching to do.

This isn't about reproductive rights. These babies would be viable outside the womb if they were completely delivered. At that point there is another life to consider besides the mother.

Also, now he says there is a "war on women."

It appears watchme and unrestricted are two libs that are teaming up.

Don't flatter yourself, no one cares about you.. Go "reproduce" all you wish.

This is a war on women harming other people..

So go scream "My Eggs" to someone else, cause no one here is buying.

I hope this is the end of the War on Women. Not many people support PBA's, but I wonder if it is just a wedge to strip American women of their reproductive rights.

Your reproductive rights end where a partially delivered child's skull begins.

It's not the woman's body we're concerned with, it's the baby's. Once the baby is born, do you think the parents have a moral obligation to use their bodies to meet the needs of the child, e.g. work, feed, clothe, diaper, bathe, vaccinate, protect, etc..? Or do you think the government should have no say in that?

Also, since you sound like your favor equal rights between the sexes, do you agree that men should also have control over their own bodies -- they should not be forced to labor with their bodies for the purpose of supporting the child if they do not want to or do not feel ready -- or if it would harm their mental health?

Republicans not signed on:

Chafee (Rino-RI)
Specter (Rino-PA)
Snowe (Rino-ME)
Collins (Rino-ME)
Warner (BR-VA)
Stevens (BR-AK)
Lamar! (SR-TN)
Murkowski (SR-AK)
Burns (R-MT)

I must admit that this makes me worry about 2 of our new Senators, Lamar! and Lisa. While not co-sponsoring a bill doesn't necessarily indicate opposition, I couldn't help noticing that the entire list(except for maybe Burns) is either a)undisputed RINO(Rino), b) borderline RINO(BR), or c) unproven but suspected RINO(SR).

If men could get an abortion it would be 100% illegal and considered worse than clubbing baby seals.
