Car Bomb Thwarted And Other Successes A car that was about to be blown up in the Netanya area was discovered early this morning in Tul Karem. IDF forces found a 20-kilogram explosive next to the car, and suspect the Islamic Jihad of planning the attack. In Shechem, IDF forces destroyed the home of a Tanzim terrorist, who was killed last year while attempting an attack in Shavei Shomron.
It was reported today that a suicide terrorist was arrested a number of weeks ago on his way into Jerusalem. He was wearing an explosives pack and was on his way towards Teddy Stadium.
IDF forces arrested early this morning Akram Hijazi, one of the big-time smugglers of weapons and ammunition from Egypt to Gaza. Hijazi did not belong to any terror organization, and carried out his work chiefly for monetary considerations. Arutz-7's Moshe Priel notes that over the past year, the IDF has destroyed over 30 tunnels used for smuggling from Egypt to PA-controlled Rafiach.
No one was injured in a bomb attack against a passenger bus in the western Shomron this afternoon, near Alfei Menashe. The bomb exploded at a junction known as the "Price of Apathy Junction." It received that name after a donkey carcass was left there for several days a few years ago, leading to a fatal car accident.
Palestinian gunmen fired at IDF outposts near Ganei Tal and N'vei Dekalim in Gaza this morning. No one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned fire.
Hopefully our U.S. donation to Egypt isn't funding this smuggling.
