I feel sorry for young kids. Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo had such gentle shows that incorporated children's natural inquisitiveness about the world.

Barney and Teletubbies are too phony, PC and just plain weird.

Sesame Street is ok, I guess.

But most Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network shows are frenetic, violent, and jaded.

Mr. Rogers will be missed here on earth. May he be welcomed to heaven as dearly as he was liked here.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Was just thinking this exact thing as I sit here typing while my daughter is watching "Pete and Pete", on Nick. I just turned and asked her what was going on cuz I noticed some little girl was screaming on the TV. I have banned several shows from the above networks in my house.
