"I'm gonna guess it was political science, but I'm not sure, it might have been history. I'll check. I hadn't thought of that one." ----- Presidential hopeful Carol Moseley Braun, when asked what she majored in during college.

If posted before, I couldn't find it on a search. This gem was in Newsweek's hard copy on the streets today.

This was the only comment I saw from Braun's speech last week as I was channel surfing.
I can verify she said it!

That's what happens when you're there by special arrangement and just skate by. I'm sure the whole thing is just a blur in her mind....or what passes for her mind....
To: AngrySpud
I saw her say it on TV. She didn't have a clue, and my immediate thought was to wonder whether this fraud ever attended college.

I love the pic of her speaking to those empty chairs in Iowa. Absolutely priceless.

Good gravy, this isn't that a matter of public record? You mean that the citizens of Illinois elected a Senator that didn't have a resume? On a resume usually one lists one's educational background, including the school that one attended, and perhaps the area of study. But CMB obviously cannot only remember anything she learned; she can't even remember what, in general, it pertained to!!!

SPECIAL CASES don't necessarily have to ATTEND.
By tomorrow, she'll have pretty, framed diplomas for BOTH. When you cheat, there's no end.

Definately fishy.....
bio
Carol Moseley-Braunlawyer and former U.S. senator
Born: 8/16/1947
Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois
Moseley-Braun made history in 1992 when she was elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first black woman to do so. She upset two-term incumbent Alan Dixon in the Democratic primary and went on to defeat Republican candidate Richard Williamson. As a senator, she sponsored several progressive education bills and championed strong gun control laws. She served on the judiciary, banking, housing and urban affairs, and small business committees. Her career suffered when it was revealed that she used campaign money to cover personal expenses, helped to loosen legal restrictions to facilitate the sale of two broadcasting companies, and promoted legislation that favored a corporate donor. She lost her 1998 reelection bid. In 1999 she was confirmed as ambassador to New Zealand.
A Chicago native and lifelong resident, Moseley-Braun graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1969 and earned a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1972. She was an assistant U.S. attorney from 1972 to 1978, when she was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. She served in the statehouse for 10 years, making education reform her priority. From 1988 to 1992 she was Cook County recorder of deeds. She was married to Michael Braun from 1973 to 1986 and has one son.

LOL. Leave it to FR to find what I was looking for. My 82-year-old mom (still sharp as can be) called today and asked if I had seen Braun.
Mom wondered if she had heard it incorrectly, so amazed was she. She asked me to see if there was anything about it here. Voila.........here it is and Braun's ignorance is confirmed. It's a two-fer. ; *)
