I think that you should ask where the papers are for the people who helped Hillary Clinton on her health care task force. The Clintons refused to release that information as well.

I am sure Dick Cheney would release those papers when Hillary and Bill release the records of their meetings. Until then, the administration should stand on its right to keep them private based on the separation of powers.

The demand for disclosure of private meetings held by the Vice President is very similar to the Senate filibuster of Miguel Estrada. The Democrats were unable to find any evidence of wrong doing but they are sure that if they dig deep enough into private papers and dealings they will find something objectionable.

...because Democrats subjected to the same scrutiny would have plenty of objectionable material surface.

I read the docs and essentially what you said is correct. Walker could show no damage and congress had issued no supoenas so there was no case. Walker could not bring the case without showing any damage to either himself or congress.

Eva: The Bush energy policy means nothing until Congress votes on it. They should vote on it based on whether they find it right or wrong -- not on the people or companies that were consulted to make it.

Cheney held meetings and formulated the policy that the Administration proposed.

Now Congress gets to decide if it likes the policy or not. How the Administration came up with the policy is of no import.

And should anyone ask why it's different than Republican criticisms of Hillary's health care proposal, tell them that Hillary was neither elected nor appointed to an official position.

Today, in the space of about 4 hours I heard a "pundit" expert on international law re: United Nations, go on to explain that "international law regarding UN RES 1441 and the Iraq situation is CLEARLY on the side of the U.S. ..........."

Later, I was entertained by the actress/comedienne Janeane Garafalo on Fox News, making a complete A** out of herself complaining about Bush's disregard for international law when it came to Iraq...

I guess whoever said "If your enemy lights a match, you light a flamethrower....." was right........we just have to keep burying these morons with the facts..

I've not heard of any allegation that Cheney paid anyone.

I believe the hopes are simply that some Enron guys were there as well as the other "big-oil" types. This would serve as pure guilt by association (in the Dems' minds).
