It was considered a "novelty song", IMO. I don't remember any DJ comments, pro or con. Remember "It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack"?

"Anyone who's raised a kid and sent him/her to any kind of church camp will recognize, "Found a peanut, found a peanut ..."
That song alone may account for any number of nervous breakdowns."

Uh-oh, you shouldn't have done that one. Remember, (sung at the top of the lungs by a crowd of pre-teen girls):

I'm a little piece of tin,
Nobody knows what I might have been
Got 4 wheels and a runnin' board
I'm a FORD oh, I'm a FORD
Honk, honk rattle rattle rattle crash
beep beep

Honk, honk rattle rattle rattle crash
beep beep

You're good... Okay, let's lower the bar...

She cries alone at night too often
He smokes and drinks and don't come home at all
Only women bleed...

Glad I could be of culinary assistance. Perhaps I can turn this thread to a more personal angle and get Freepers to list all the songs with "Spices & Herbs" in the names. Scarborough Fair is already known!

Don't know if anyone got this one yet

Sneakin' down your alley way,

Knockin' on your door (oh, uuuh, uuuh)

Thought I had enough, but I'm Back for more(oh, uuuh, uuuh)

CINNAMON,

Let me in, etc. by a guy named Derek

but it's more fun to sing it as SYNONYM!

"No use talking when the shadows fall; night bird's calling, and he says it all." Sigh -- some wonderful memories associated with that bit of tuneful fluff. Right around that same time, there was 10CC with "The Things We Do For Love" on the "Deceptive Bends" album. "Like walking in the rain and the snow when there's no place to go and you feel like a part of you is dying."

I really believe this thread could last forever -- but wait, didn't England Dan and JFC remind us that "We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again." Man, they were deep.

Yes, 4 Jacks and a Jill from South Africa. How about The Easybeats from Australia? "Friday On My Mind."

I remember when rock was young, me and Suzie had so much fun, holding hands and skimming stones, had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own.

Now Amos Moses was a Cajun
He lived by hisself in the swamp
And hunted alligator for a living
He'd just knock 'em in the head with a stump

But baby goodbye doesn't mean forever
Let me tell you goodbye doesn't mean we'll never be together again
When you wake up and I'm not there, I won't be long away...
