The two cars idled side-by-side at the top of the hill, the adrenaline building in the two teenage drivers getting ready to race to the bottom.

It was just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. The night was clear and crisp. Lights from the valley floor twinkled below. The boys rolled down their windows to talk first. It's uncertain what they said, but for one it would be his last conversation.

The way some of this generation of Asian kids born in the US is working hard to put Asians back on the affirmative action list...

The Marine Corps doesn't count Asians as minorities because it was screwing up the agendas on the standardized tests. Then again, maybe these idiots will all kill themselves before they get much older.

You've doubtless seen these:

(and it's gonna be hard to achieve World Dominance if you insist on reading a third-rate rag like the Murky News) <|:)~

If the Juvenile Courts, and the DMV (Calif. Dept. of Motor Vehicles) put some REAL CONSEQUENCES into the mix, some might reconsider.

Take this case. If EVERY driver and passenger faced the loss of their licenses for five or ten years, it could make a reason for some to opt out.

When I was a teenager, we drag raced on city streets. Usually the cars that raced would only have the driver.

I would say the cars of that era were faster, but handled less well.

Some of us were into sports cars, and raced the curves in the hills (instead of drag racing). A friend of mine broke his back.

I doubt much has changed. I favor organized racing, instead of endangering innocent people on public streets. No tears for the deceased twirp.

Fremont Police, literally just up the road from San Jose hooks up any cars in the area during races.

They have a lot of semiconductor etc business parks, streets on grids and empty at night. Racers were flocking there, so FPD started towing every single car they could after blocking the streets, whether they were racing or not.

You've got the import racers in the southbay and peninsula, and in the Eastbay (Oakland etc) you've got the "urban" folks doing sideshows...basically big blocks having donut contests.

Nothing beats cubic inches...

speaking of Murky News...

The chronicle not only had a front page article about the war protestors being 65K not 200K, but about Pelosi's kickbacks, in the same issue.

then the examiner laid off almost everyone and is going to be a free paper. somethings afoot! Paging dale gribble.

No tears for the deceased twirp.

No need to shed tears, but please dont be a hypocrite either.

If it were only so easy to race"organised", many times ive wasted lots o time and money to get one or two runs in at the track, it makes for a vey frustrating evening. Education and common sense would be more appropriate. As well as a prayer for the family.
