Sundheim got 666 votes

I'll bet he wish he had gotten 665 instead.

He's a "moderate." That means he's liberal. He only cares that he has power.

Party delegates also voted with no discussion to approve a resolution supporting a recall drive aimed at ousting Democratic Gov. Gray Davis.

Is this a bone to conservatives ala, "can't we all just get along"...

Duf is short for DUFFMAN...as in the Simpsons character

"Duff-man shall never die! Only the actors that play him. Oh yeah!"

For the record, Duf's real first name is George. Don't know where the Duf comes from, but considering he's a third generation George Sundheim, a nickname is not surprising.

"Sundheim got 666 votes"

I think we now know who the anti-Christ of the state GOP is... and all along I thought it was Parsky.

Maybe Parsky is the antichrist and Sundheim is the Whore of Babylon. In any case, I hope they can turf them both out of there before 2004, or California is going down the tubes yet again.

Some people just don't get it. I've never seen a state party more anxious to make itself in the image of the now-deceased Massachusetts GOP than the CA Republicans.

Thanks , I think. And a Duffer shall lead the party of malcontent republicans back into the light of day , politic-wise.

That "666" vote tote is too ironical.

Ummmmm.... Never mind. 8-)

God bless the sane folks and let him play bejeezers with the rest.

Pete Wilson had a winning strategy that he used to win in 1994, Lungren refused to use it and now we are stuck in no mans land. I dont think we will be as lame as Massachusetts, but I think we can be better. We will.

Pete Wilson is a liberal jerk!

It's time to throw the liberals out of the party and then we can win elections.

So the guy who won was the guy who was supported by "polarizing figure" Shawn Steel?
The guy being "Duf", the scumbag liberal?

And the loser was Bill Back, the conservative who was supported by scumbag liberal Gerald Parsky?
Do I got all this right?

California is a freakin' basket case.

Well unfortunally the conservatives want to throw out the liberals and the liberals want to throw out the conservatives.

If we want to govern the entire state we have to host a broad range of ideologies. Left, Right and Center. I dont think a die in the wool CRA member could win Palo Alto nor Pasadena. Nor a Log Cabin member could win Bakersfield. But we need to adapt to the dominant ideology of each city and county we represent. Representing the fringe of either side will cause electoral downfall especially with Nancy Pelosi and her posse as an example.

Until we get the professional women back to our party we will still be marginal to our potential.
