Today I had the pleasure of attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo parade in downtown Houston and was impressed with the show of patriotism displayed by those in attendance. Everywhere you looked, American flags of different sizes were waving, people were attired in various patriotic type clothing, and for me, I got a great sense of just how much pride Americans have in this great country, save for the leftists who seek to make people believe their view is mainstream.
In coverage of the hate-filled displays of last week in our country, the media remarked about the diversity of the crowds, implying that somehow, that cross-section of progressives / socialists / communists were somehow representative of our country. I'm sure the typical nose in the air, French-loving, socialist liberal will state something to the effect of "I'm sure a rodeo parade was filled with nothing but a bunch of hate-filled, redneck, angry white men riding around on horses." The reality is that the real diversity of this country, that diversity based on people of different races believing this country to be the place to be, was proudly on display today in Houston, and in numbers that far dwarfed the freakshow that was last week's demonstration in Houston. No doubt when next weekend rolls around, that real diversity will display itself again, and it won't be based on deviant lifestyles, socialist/communist worship, hate America and hate George Bush behavior, and you can be certain it won't be based on idiotic need to keep a brutal dictator in power for the sake of the "progressive" version of peace.
God Bless America, our President, and our brave men and women of our armed forces.
