NEWARK, N.J. -- The owner and employees of a well-known New Jersey rock 'n' roll club said the band Great White failed to tell them they would use pyrotechnics for a concert there a week before a deadly blaze at the band's Rhode Island show.
"We just did them and we did not have any advance notice," said Domenic Santana, owner of the Stone Pony, the storied Asbury Park nightclub. "Our stage manager didn't even know it until it was done. My sound man freaked out because of the heat and everything, and they jeopardized the health and the safety of our patrons."

Did The Station give the OK at their show?
To: socal_parrot
The pyrotechnics weren't the problem. It was the flammable material on the walls.

Just on the local news in Milwaukee. Band played here in December, used the pyrotechnics at a local club without getting a permit.

The pyrotechnics weren't the problem.Only an idiot would use pyrotechics indoors.

If the band didn't ask permission at The Station club, they would not have been told of the flammable wall material. Possible?

This is the part I hate: looking for the guy to blame. I'm sure there's enough blame to go around. But wait until the dead people are identified.

The pyro wasn't the problem??? LOL Wow, that is some twisted logic. Anyway, it's obvious "Great White" has been doing this consistently without getting permission and permits. You just saw your LAST "Great White" concert. When the lawsuits are done, these guys won't have enough money left to buy a guitar pic.

or candles or lighters for that matter. Only an idiot would have a club with flammable walls.

My guess is that this isn't the first time they have used them. So it begs the question "What happened differently?". That fire spread way too quickly.

"Did The Station give the OK at their show?" Better Question: "Will the Rev-rund Jackson rush to the aide of "this" club owner?" (Or is he of the wrong ethnic heritage?)

I would imagine you're right, according to code, but it could be a chicken/egg argument as far as what caused the fire. I would think there will be a lot of questions of the club, including crowd size and accessable exits.
