I do find the accuracy of Golitsyn's predictions, especially when we view the past couple of years, to be remarkable. As but one example; the rapidity with which the Sino-Russian thaw occured after "the collapse of the East Bloc" does indeed beg the question regarding the true nature of the "split" way back when. And when one considers the impacts that "the China card" had on the obsessive Henry Kissenger, and the road belief in it put us on, leading us to the present difficulties that pit economic dependence on the PRC against our geopolitical exposure caused by its military growth and overt aid to rogue nations and terrorists, one must at least wonder if the "card" was somehow planted precisely to achieve a given effect.
Then, there are the uncomfortable realities inherent in the nature of the Trans-Asian Axis as of the post-9/11 era. In many ways, the current appearance of an anti-Western bloc of the Communists, the "former" Communists and the Islamists, seems to suggest that, while coincidential build up of said Axis is a possibility, a secretly and previously coordinated plan to fool the West into believing in the end of the Cold War, followed by 10 years of false peace and now, the troubles we are currently in, is a possibility that also ought not be ignored.
