Whatever your babble is, this statement tells volumes about you:

I bet most vets find it hard to stomach that all they really needed to do to get out of the war was to don a Nazi uniform.

That is despicable and sick on so many levels - first that they would decline service this way, secondly because you imply that it would be a good idea to put Nazis in the armed forces.

particularly given the way they were hosed by their government -- dirty dealing with the Chicoms the whole time -- i'll bet many vets feel they were had even if their love of country and moral obligation to serve would have them err on the side of military service again ... themselves or their children.

it's an insult to them and utterly absurd that duke was "denied" the opportunity of a tour in Nam simply for prancing about in a Nazi uniform.
