The Merc is a riddle unto itself until you look at who owns and operates it.
I post a lot of stuff from there and the Sac Bee so folks get a good dose of left coast rhetoric and leftist propaganda.. plus it's good training for newbies and a chance to provide some education for the many lurkers.
Damn, who knows what this summer and fall hold? But we know what will be printed and posted in certain "newsrooms".
The Merc's editorial said that Republicans are "delusional" for opposing more tax hikes and said that Democrats are "unwilling to recognize" that the well has run dry. This choice of words by the scumbags at the Merc speaks volumes.
In a sane world, this editorial would have called Democrats "delusional" for thinking that they could continue to spend like drunken sailors on shore leave, and added that Republicans are "unwilling" to raise taxes. That the Merc's editors chose to write their editorial the way they did tells me that they are nothing but cowardly pissants - - slobbering lackeys for the state's Democrat Party.
I agree with you that postings from the Merc and other leftist fishwrappers are instructive. These publications are as responsible as anybody for California's budget mess. Let's just pray that the Republicans hold tight and NEVER cave on new taxes. And I believe that they will stay united. I think they will show that they are principled and honorable, and they will continue to do the right thing for their constituents. It is finally the parasites' turn to feel the pain.
