The basis for this oft repeated accusation has never been made clear to me. Which is it?:
1) No politician, including Repulicans, would be politcally foolish enough to make the kind of cuts necessary to balance the budget or,
2) The kind of cuts required are not constitutionally possible and would face immediate court challanges rendering them ineffective within the time frame necessary to provide relief or,
3) The legislature, clogged with Democratic idealogues, would never pass legislation that didn't include tax increases or,
4) All of the above.
Has anyone on this forum seen a clear analysis of the alternatives or care to pass along some personal insight?
Hahahaaa, classic!
The Republicans are "delusional", but Democrats are merely "unwilling".
These scumbag liberals at the SJ Mercury News can drop dead. The Democrats got California into its pathetic mess with their irresponsible spending spree (election-buying, especially with the help of the education mafia) and the Republicans rightly reject the idea that their constituents, hard-working traditional American families, should be punished with more taxes.
Any Republican who agrees to even one more dime in new taxes is a traitor and a punk who should be recalled immediately. Fortunately, it looks like this crop of Republicans has the decency and integrity and backbone to do the right thing - - reject more Democrat taxes.
