*** [T]here are serious risks, some beyond the U.S. military's control *** "There is a 100% chance he will try to use chemical and biological agents," Peters says. "And the sad thing is, he will try to blame it on us and there is a substantial portion of the Arab and Muslim world who will buy into that. ***" I have been making the same prediction on FR for weeks. IMHO the Bush administration needs to be talking about this scenario. Time to shout this from the roof tops.

My prayer is that Saddam pack his bags and exit. However, if we should invade Iraq, it would be wise to establish an interim U.S. government as we did in Japan after WWII. The cost of administering and defending that government would come out of Iraq oil revenues. With the U.S. occuping Iraq and Israel on our flank, we'd be putting our Muslim and European enemies on notice.

Interesting piece..I think it;s the first one I've reead that draws a comparison between an attempt to capture Saddam with the mission to take Noriega..

I call BS on not destroying his army. Conscripts, maybe, but we want the republican guard obliterated.
