I just love government. Both Republicans and Democrats be damned:

Tucked into the spending plan were thousands of home-district projects for lawmakers of both parties costing several billion dollars and adding to the bill's virtually unstoppable momentum. One portion of the bill had 885 of them for community development grants.

Lawmakers should be proud for forcibly taking our money and spending it on SH*T.

Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, took credit for winning $90,000 to create a bilingual audio tour for the cowgirl museum in Fort Worth, where she was once mayor.

Well, this "Republican" should be proud to be a member of a political party that supposedly is for less government and less wasteful spending. This is certainly a good use of my tax dollars!

There was $50,000 more for research on shiitake mushrooms at the South Central Family Farm Research Center in Booneville, Ark.; $45,000 for a Korean War memorial in Athens, Ala.; and $400,000 to help the Nevada Wildlife Division return displaced wildlife to their natural habitats.

Yes, this is all clearly marked in the US Constitution. Congress should be taking money from US citizens at the point of the gun to fund such ventures. Absolutely pathetic. And many FReepers wonder why the Libertarian Party attracts adherents. Mind-boggling isn't it?

Not government spending. Who do you think is better off spending YOUR money? You or the government?
