San Francsico? Great. I'll bet you can only enter through the back door.

Satcher said the United States lags woefully behind other countries such as France, Germany and the Netherlands in sexual education.

So what's the problem?

"Bridging the gap between science and advocacy is what this center is going to do best," said Satcher"

Nothing like being a little vague about what the 'center' is actually going to be offering the public. I am wondering what the REAL story is here....

"We see this as a major effort to try to depoliticize sexuality."

Yeah right!

Wow, the lies just keep on coming!

with the goal of replacing myths about sex with evidence-based research on sexual health, education and rights.
I'll bet you I can tell you what their research will "discover" already. They aren't researching anything. They're a press release machine.

We see this as a major effort to try to depoliticize sexuality. To make an attempt to try and break through the fear, the shame and the silence surrounding sexuality
I call this type of line a backflip. A backflip is when you begin the sentence with a lie (their intent is to hide behind the veil of science to politically attack people who disagree with their agenda, so they open the sentence by claiming they're trying to depoliticize sex) and then backflip with the rest of the sentence(the second half makes it clear they intend to attack people who believe there should be a stigma attached to specific sexual behaviors). This is the greatest backflip since Hillary's "We've got to stop the blame game, like we had during the last 12 years of Reagan-Bush."

Satcher said the United States lags woefully behind other countries such as France, Germany and the Netherlands in sexual education.
Hey guys! We can be as cool as France!"

There are three other such centers -- in Africa, India and South America -- primarily funded by Ford Foundation grants, from which the San Francisco center will receive $550,000 annually in addition to private donations
Two points: First, I'm so glad I don't drive a Ford, Second, anyone really believe they're not getting any government funding?

At $550,000, this probably amounts to no more than 4 guys and a dog. Much like "the Center for Science in the Public Interest". A small outfit with a big mouth.

Oh, thank God...

I was wondering what this thing that sticks out below my belly button was...
