KENNESAW, Ga. - President Bush worked to build support for his tax-cut proposals Thursday, including an appeal to America's stock "ownership society" to help his embattled plan to eliminate taxes on stock dividends.

"More consumption and investment means somebody more likely to find work," Bush told an invitation-only audience at a high school in this Atlanta suburb.

Bush Tries to Rally Support for Tax Plan

Anyone else see the overt liberal bias in this headline? Tries?

Related thread: Bush Touts His Economic Plan in Georgia

``I agree with Zell, with this economic theory that when a person has more money in his pocket, they're likely to demand that somebody produce them a good or a service,'' he said.

Bush ignores the economic reality that undermines his economic "stimulus" plan: U.S. trade deficit hit record $435.2 billion in 2002

Any "trickle down effect" normally associated with tax cuts is quickly diverted overseas.
American taxpayers are subsequently mired deeper in debt. Government Hits $6.4 Trillion Debt Limit

Dubya's lack of fiscal responsibility will weaken our nation and lead to his political defeat in 2004.

Like his father, ol' Juanterm is economicly clueless, even when current headlines hit him square in the face.

LOL... (No bias here)

Agreed... The title would make it seem like President Bush was having to go door to door to find any support for tax cuts.

The battle rages on... ;-)

And this is all the fault of Bush and the Republicans?

The fact that demRats and socially irresponsible programs have ruled the spending ship for years and years means it's all the Republicans fault. We didn't get to tettering on the edge of full-blown socialist overnight.

Yes, I was just going to say the same thing. Typical examples of liberal headlines:

Clinton rallies support

Bush tries to rally support

Listened to and watched the speech today in Georgia. Frankly, I thought the entire gig was lame. In fairness to W, I think that the Iraq burden has weighed him down considerably. He's fighting Sadaam, the press, the left, France, Germany, Turkey, protesters, NATO, and, maybe some senior staff. The man earned his paycheck this past month and a few prayers from those that care. I care and I pray that God will bless our President and our Country. I know that our President deserves the blessing...I'm not so sure about our Country?

No, but the ball has been handed off to Dubya.
And he's looking a lot like Wrong Way Corrigan.

This from The Limbaugh Letter:

IS THIS FAIR?

CBS and others have been polling Americans with leading questions such as, "Is Bush's tax plan fair to all Americans"? or, "Does the Bush plan favor the rich?" So much for impartiality. Which is why I came up with my own "fairness" quiz:

* Do you think it's FAIR that only 5% of Americans pay the majority of all taxes?

* Do you think it's FAIR that those who use government services least pay the highest taxes?

* Do you think it's FAIR that able-bodied people, even those who aren't even looking for jobs, are given unemployment for up to nine months?

* Do you think it's FAIR that politicians have their own private retirement plans that aren't affected by tax policies they impose on others?

* Do you think it's FAIR that businesses are taxed for paying dividends to your pension plan?

* Do you think it's FAIR that those who work harder than others achieve more than those who don't?

* Do you think it's FAIR that married couples pay more in taxes simply because they're betrothed?

* Do you think it's FAIR that people who pay more in taxes should be left out when tax cuts are proposed?

Klintoon signed NAFTA.
Do you honestly think Dubya is going to undo THAT if given the chance?

Has there ever been a tax cut when a war was going on?

To my recollectance, No. But I quit studying history awhile ago. I couldn;t keep up with all the revisionism in the 90s. I think we may have been at war the entire decade, but Bill, was.. uhhh.. busy.. so the jury is still out.

Now we all know what Churchill felt like...
