NEW YORK - McDonald's Corp. (MCD) Thursday dismissed as "senseless" the filing of an amended lawsuit in New York alleging the fast-food chain sells foods that are more hazardous than customers expect.
The reaction from the world's largest restaurant chain came a day after new court papers were filed in a previously dismissed suit that had blamed the company's Big Macs, fries and Chicken McNuggets for obesity in children. The papers were filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan late on Wednesday, according to several news reports.

What about parental responsibility? What about common sense? These lawyers are but parasites on society which is in need of a good de-worming.

Also, they could slam the economy and the market by driving Mickey D's into a negative media fest. If it became socially unacceptable, for example, for kids to go to McDonalds, they would suffer, as would the shareholders and their workers and franchise owners. Could take several hundred points off the market as a whole.
Think Microsoft and the rabid anti-MS cult out there. I know those who hate MS will tell me how evil and venal and inept it is (please, spare me and no FReep mail either; I am fully apprised of the myriad reasons for this attitude.) Or, come to think of it, like SUVs or large working dog breeds or smoking.
Or like guns.
We've seen this many times before and slowly, it changes our behavior, like it or not. It is coercive social engineering and the victims even pay for it.
Sorta like terrorism.
