greymaign attempted to make the following point, "Not [sic] let me ask again...did War END Slavery, Fascism and Communism?"
pedant [pudnt]
n.
  1. a person who relies too much on academic learning or who is concerned chiefly with insignificant detail.
  2. Archaic. a schoolmaster or teacher.
[via Old French from Italian pedante teacher; perhaps related to Latin paedagogus {pedagogue}]
pedantic [pdæntk]
adj.
pedantically adv.

So. Let's see if you can understand this: By most accounts, the slavery in the USA ended after the Civil War, due to the insistence of the North. Knowing this, most rational persons would agree that war ended slavery. Of course, one should add, if they are as pedantic as you seem to be, that it only ended it in the USA, and as a side effect of the aforementioned war.

Secondly, another rational, non pedantic person can easily realize that World War II ended the then-current threat of German, Japanese, and Italian fascism.
Of course, to assuage your obviously constant preoccupation with minutae, the person would have to also add that it only ended the '30's and '40's version of fascism, and that some few people were left alive who adhered to fascism, and that many people were born since World War II, which America entered in December 7th of 1941, not the 8th, because the Declaration of War stated that the US had been in a "state of war" since the day before which was December 7th of 1941, which was referenced above. Those people who were born since the end of that war, World War II, and perhaps some who were born during and before; some of those have become fascists, even though Italy, Japan, and Germany are not fascistic governments anymore primarily due to losing the aforementioned World War II.

As for the collapse of Communism as a collective superpower, a series of conflicts including the Soviet expulsion out of Afghanistan by proxies of the USA, weakened and demoralized the Soviet Union. Concurrently with these brushfire wars, the Cold War (a real war in the classic sense - read your Sun Tzu and von Clausewitz) did indeed end Communism as an active power in world affairs.

Now. Do you understand that sign at all? Or are you going to pull up some other minute grammatical and/or diagrammatical "error" in that sign and attempt to hang whatever "point" you have on that dirtspeck of an "untruth"??
