To some, the Rev. Frederick Boyle and his fellow "human shields" in Iraq are heroes who are selflessly risking their lives to head off war.

Others have a less charitable view, and note that the Randolph minister and other Americans are violating federal law merely by traveling to Iraq.

They will die for a cause. More power to them. I wish all the leftists would go and be human shields.

I wonder what will happen when Saddam's son Odai rapes one of the human shields? Perhaps they will just accept her fate as a causality of war. It was for a good cause ya know.

Perhaps they will return with fresh insight into the Iraqi "way of life" that will turn them against Saddam. Do you think that Saddam is going to be able to control everything that they see and hear. This should be an experience that they will never forget, if they live to tell about it. Remember he already has several of his cabinet members stuffed in a cabinet to make sure that they don't kill him. Considering the hate that the common people have for Saddam, it is likely that he will be having trouble keeping the masses under his control.


I just hope that if they do live to tell about it that they don't claim that they "were in Desert Storm 2", as if they were for our side.

These people are so stupid that they would be willing to create a shield around a weapon of mass destruction.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if Nazi-lovers Joe Kennedy and Charles Lindbergh had gone to Berlin in 1943. Answer: they would have died traitorous deaths, as will these warped "patriots" in Iraq.

There was a Reverend during the American Revolution who, at the battle of Springfield (Connecticut Farms) in New Jersey, tore up hymnals for Colonial Troops to use as wadding in their muskets.

Historically, American Clergymen have been in the forefront of those who supported American freedoms (with a few glaring exception like the Quakers - who still plague us today, enjoying those freedoms they refuse to fight for), from the days of the French and Indian Wars through World War 2 and Viet Nam.

Only lately, within the last half-century, has the creeping menace of left-wing radicalism made inroads into the Christian Churchs, particuarly the Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians and Catholics.

Yet even today, there are clergymen like the Catholic priest who died giving last rites to World Trade Center rescuers, and many others, who support America. Unfortunately, the hierarchies of many of these churches do not reflect their views, and the leftist media does not provide them with coverage.

Hit it on the head. In the benighted scramble to seperate church from state, little attention is given by the media to clergy or parishoners who disagree with liberal views. Unless, of course, its to portray someone as a reactionist nut-job. The embracing of the liberal theology of the post-enlightnement era has rendered many of these main line denominations nearly morally bankrupt. Though many of the people are faithful the governing bodies readily sacrifice on the altars of pluralism and relativism. The old churches of Europe sit empty and many here are heading the same way. It is interesting, and even Limbaugh pointed this out, the churches that have chosen to stay more conservative in their theology are growing!

I would never allow someone to make a portrait of me "praying." The picture itself is scandalous from a Biblical standpoint. He is holding himself up as a righteous and praying man. The Bible says do just the opposite.
