Even as much of the East Coast continues to dig out from giant mounds of snow from the Blizzard of 2003, a weekend "pray for rain" rally is planned to ask God to alleviate the ongoing drought plaguing America's breadbasket.
"This country, and northwest Kansas, has turned away from God and sinned, and the land is full of blood from aborted babies," Leonard Kinkade told the Hays Daily News. "Too many pastors have turned a blind eye and deaf ear in their churches, and as a result of the sin, God has withheld his blessings of the rain upon the land because of the sin in the [country]."

They're more than welcome to some of the 7.8 inches my town received in 72 hours last weekend.

When the drought suddenly breaks, the "judgment" guys will be forced to admit that the people must have repented--which won't be true, of course.

Wonder if this moron has noticed "The rain falls on the just and unjust alike"?
It simply boggles my mind how many people have this infantile, Medieval conception of Christianity..heck, worse than that, it's Mog and Og praying to the Volcano God mentality....of disasters happening to sinners and the virtuous being rewarded.
It's blatantly obvious to even a cursory examination that the world doesn't operate like the Old Testament, no matter how much people want to fantasize that it does. The hilarious thing is that the people trying to pretend that it does don't obey any of the long lists of regulations in the Old Testament that Hasidic Jews do.

It rained here all last year, Lake Jackson, Texas. I was gone to Los Angeles and my two oldest kids took care of my home while I was gone. Oldest son is 21. I kept asking them if they were watering the yard and my plants, and they didn't have to water all last summer, it rained so often! Plus we had Tropical Storm Fay that drenched us and a couple of hurricanes that doused us. So does that mean that God really blessed us here? My patio furniture cushions got mold and mildew on them. I think rocks started rusting.
