Immigrant-control groups assail popular ID cards

A move by several Central American countries to issue identification cards to their citizens in the United States has sparked complaints that the cards promote illegal immigration.

The cards, patterned after Mexico's highly successful consular identification card, allow immigrants to open bank accounts, board airplanes and conduct other official business, regardless of their immigration status.

Hey, they're cheap to make, I would think. An eagle eye hologram would be cool too. A hologram would cost a little more, but what the heck. We're worth it! :-)

So the various ethnic groups of Latinos are demanding the USA to give validitity to their ID cards. I wonder if the Mexicans and Central Americans will acknowledge each others' ID cards?
