Too rich for words, except to say; Adios, amigos.
I also heard the protestors asked "where will we stay? To which the Iraqis said. "Stay?. What do you mean stay? You'll stay with the human shields."

A red London bus carrying anti-war campaigners who aim to act as human shields in Baghdad drives past Istanbul's Suleyman the Magnificent Mosque as they set out for Baghdad February 10, 2003. Turkish Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis said on Monday disputes in NATO (news - web sites) over preparations to defend Turkey against Iraqi attack in event of a war were more a matter of timing than essence and could be overcome. Unidentified peace activists chant slogans as they hold anti-war banners in Turkish and Greek on a red double-decker bus in Istanbul, Turkey, Sunday Feb. 9, 2003. Some 30 members of the human shields group arrived Friday in Istanbul in a convoy of two red double-decker buses and several cars that traveled by land from Britain. The activists are heading to Iraq to act as 'human shields' to try and prevent an American-led attack on that country. (AP Photo/Str) |

Tell them when they get to the happy hunting ground, use their cell phones to call, if not that, write.

Hmmm. Seems the rules apply to us all.

Reminds me of the Taliban volunteers from Pakistan who ran right into the buzzsaw at Omar Sahrif. (or whatever it was called)

Mr. O'Keefe needs his head examined.

I read an article that quoted a 22 year old female hair stylist from the USA who had joined this group. She said "I thought we would party all the way to Iraq".
LOL

What a report...
Three clunkers limp into Iraq, after many abandon, many get too sick to continue and many fight amongst themselves. Sounds like they will fit in nice in the middle east.

They want "peace" and they can't even get along with each other? Their "informal" leader is hung up somewhere in Syria because he didn't realize he needed an official passport. Too funny!

In between stints of snow shoveling, I turned on the TV. They showed these guys in Baghdad, milling around, playing bongos, and so forth. One guy had on a black jacket with "HUMAN SHIELD" lettered across the back. Looked like an FBI or BATF jacket. Stylish, protester chic.

This reminds me of the idiots who refused the evacuate Boloxi/Gulfport when cat 5 hurricane Camille was bearing down on that community.
I hope in this case as in the above mentioned, someone has gone around collecting the names of the next of kin.

"There were lots of group squabbles," said Benjamin Joffe-Walt, 23, an American paramedic. "Very few people knew each other. I did not know any of them, and it was difficult to organize it. There were lots of different ideas on when to go to bed, how long to spend on the bus." LOL. Imagine the fights over who play lead bongo drum during the drum ins on the bus.

Let's hope they strap GPS broadcasters to themselves to help us with targeting.
