But the techniques and abilities required are pretty basic hand and machine tool operation, and most anyone with a little time and more patience can learn to do so well enough to at least modify existing equipment to suit personal or custom requirements, at least on individual examples.
I envy those with the imagination to assemble seperate functions into one elegant package, creating their own designs, borrowing from the most suitable of the old combined with their own methods of overcoming mechanical problems, and adding in more modern materials and working technologies. That's really neat.
