I am not in the loop either...infact, farthest from it. I am only speculating witnessing the entire escapade.

Hackworth may not be in the loop, but he is still a news source. A news source who I consider to be on the right side. A lot here are complaining that he is running his mouth and in that negative, putting down our troops and our preparedness. Well, what our these guys doing by posting it on Free Republic... Keeping it under wraps?? Hardly...

You and I differ on the 1st 2 points you mention here . I dont believe he is a news source nor would I consider him to be on the right side when he or anyone else uses the public podium to forward information that is potentially detrimental to our forces .

If you were ever in the American Armed Forces you knew if you had equiptment that had short comings or was in short supply just like I did . Putting it out for everyone to know about including possible / probable op-for is uncalled for sit-rep .

I'm not defending other posters here . They can do that themselves . I will say again , that when Col. Hackworth is quoted in his own words and his actions are publicly displayed , if a critique is in order than so be it .
