There's a tangled web of relationships between some of CalPERS' most powerful board members and the venture capital funds that receive CalPERS' investments through a middleman, Grove Street Advisors.
Grove Street Advisors, a consultant firm, has committed $2.9 billion of CalPERS' money into 150 venture capital funds. CalPERS has so far resisted the release of the financial performance of those funds -- which are among the worst performing and most risky.

Conversely, that's why the libs hate conservatives b/c we pay attention.

The Mercury News, or maybe Knight Ridder, apparently still has a bone to pick with these virtuous folks with the big bags of money to milk. The rest of the rags will follow eventually, well, some of 'em may.
The level of corruption is staggering when you think about the amounts of money we are talking.
Kickbacks, sweetheart deals, campaign donations; bu$iness as usual at CalPERS and the California state government.
