The problem is some of us are relatively proficient with multiple weapons and are faced with decisions decisions. Do I use the 1911 with the cutom rubber grips, the Kimber, the EAA witness, the Remington 1100, the Mauser .45acp, etc. I figure start anyplace and work my way through until there is no more home invader acapable of continuing an attack on me.

That comment was geared more toward people who want to invest in a single weapon to protect the home. Not for gun nuts...err...enthusiasts..like you and I.
