Marchers are continuing to stream into San Francisco's Civic Center this afternoon where tens of thousands of anti-war demonstrators will hear from several speakers, including U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee.

The demonstrators began to march at 11:30 a.m. after a rally at Justin Herman Plaza and have so far heard from actor Danny Glover in the plaza in front of City Hall. Lee, D-Oakland, musicians Bonnie Raitt and Joan Baez, and author Alice Walker are also scheduled to address the crowd.

Absolutely correct. I tell people who FReep with us in Boston, assume you are going to be interviewed, think about why you are here, have your story worked out and mention FRee Republic. I screwed up on my first 'Toon protest interview.

I just read an article here on the board about the massacres at Halabja. It was heart wrenching, primarily because it was written without emotion. Just a long cataloguing of stories by the people who managed to survive about the day it happened. I don't think the American people realize what what a chemical attack would do. They should all read this.

Two days ago, I read about the Marsh Arabs and how Saddam destroyed the beautiful marshlands of Iraq to punish the people. It told of their lives and how they have been altered since the draining of the Marshlands. A lifestyle that has existed for thousands of years, wiped out by one vengeful man.

These peace marchers are uninformed fools who are performing the part of the communists "useful idiots". They totally sicken me.

The comment they used was devoid of any significant content and did nothing to correctly portray the sentiments of the counter protestors. It WAS used to make us look as if we had no idea why we were there other than blind support for a republican administration. The lefty reporter won.

Wouldn't it have been better if any of these messages were the ones the reporter heard?

Of course, no one supports war. But, as in WWII, sometimes it's necessary for the brave and courageous to remove murderous dictators like Saddam Hussein to preserve freedom in the world.

We are here to support the removal of a tyrant who thinks nothing of invading and killing his neighbors, gassing and murdering his own people, and who supports and aids terrorists like those who flew planes into the WTC on 9-11.

We support the right of people to express their opinions, it is the center of the freedoms given to us in our constitution. However, the efforts of these protestors, who are supported by worldwide communists organizations, will only give aid and comfort to and embolden Saddam Hussein and lengthen the coming conflict in Irag which will end up in unnecessary suffering and deaths to the brave members of our military who are risking their lives to ensure those very same rights to these misguided protestors.

If you have a controlled number of people saying the same thing, backed up with a press kit, the press can either qoute what you want them to or or not. If they are looking for an unflattering comment they can use, better for all to stay quite because anything that is said will be used to put FR in as bad a light as possible.

These "Peace" protests are really subversive socialist anti-capitalist demonstrations against the USA.

These are the same anti-American untermenschen that riot against "Globalization".

If they can get worked up over the "Group of Eight Summit", they must be frothing at the mouth at the thought the USA is going to make the world safe for capitalism.

These hypocritical creatures weren't out in the streets when the ragheads perpetrated a sneak attack in NYC and killed 3,000 Americans in cold blood, they are intellectually and morally bankrupt and pathetic.

Thankfully they help the GOP in the polls everytime they take to the streets, and they'll find out what Americans really think about the war on Election day.

My philosophy has always been that we should forgive ourselves our mistakes...just resolve not to make them twice!

Unfortunately, I see the same mistakes made over and over. My suggestion for future FReeps of this sort, all the chapter leaders who will take part should get together in at least one conference for a couple hours and get everyone on the same page. Compare notes, come up with talking points and designate the media reps.

The Network has a private room on Paltalk expressly for this purpose. To be honest, it all came up pretty quick, but excuses aside, I am disappointed that the FR Network wasn't able to jump in and help the chapters with planning and organization. Let's not make that mistake again.

The booby editors at the SF Chronicle decided to cut out the mention of FreeRepublic, but left that last paragraph ...

While the debate between the two sides was closely monitored by the San Francisco Police Department, officers report that there have been no problems and no arrests so far.

... and leaves it up to its readers to figure out which two sides it is referring to.

Hers some more technology that Saddam will be getting aquainted with real soon.

Master Sergeant John C. Woods, of San Antonio, Texas, readies the noose for the hanging of convicted Nazi criminals. Woods, the official executioner for the US Army, said, "I hanged those 10 Nazis and I am proud of it!"

Agreed that the leftypress will spike, spin and misqoute. To be fair, at times all we can do is make sure we don't give them any ammunition!

There are other things we can do to be "proactive". We couls send FReepers into the dens of iniquity with digital cameras and camcorders. The images and tapes could be organized and sent to Sean Hannity and he might do a segment using them. We could add research on who these groups are and who is supporting them.

"Mourning Mothers" held dolls intended to look like dead children as they protested any American invasion of Iraq.

Needless to say, the leftists would never protest the gassing of Kurdish children by Saddam, or for the children being tortured in Saddam's hellish prisons.

BTW - We do have the tools to do this. DWARE just formed an issue specific chapter to research and investigate groups such as ANSWER. Also, I'm sure there already is some pretty good intelligence already out there.

One of the problems we have, in Boston, is the show up factor, generally there are two FReepers and we draw our support from those passsing by. Electric and I generally assume that it will be he and I among the FReeper Clan.

Most of the people that join us are young and articulate, but they are not FReepers. I don't mean to demean Mass FReepers, but Boston is a sucky place to navigate unless you know it well.

I have engraved in my mind every FReeper that has helped us, but I have also remembered all of the Boston Patriots that stood with us at our various FReeps. It is a good feeling to walk down the street and have a person say you were the guys at "Israel Day" or meet one of the homeless Vets that supported us.

It is not that people don't have the fire, it is because people have lives to live and kids to raise.

Melissa Mandel, a volunteer for one of the march organizers, International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), said the protests are helping to spread the word about the opposition to a U.S. attack in the Middle East.

Notice that FR is "right-wing" but NO mention that ANSWER is communist. Double standard. Call them on it!
