The deepest snow I've ever seen in my life was in Dover, De. Feb. 1957. Was snowbound for a week and I was visiting from Miami, Fla. Couldn't get a flight out of D.C. I nearly froze to death. Now, today here in WV, we are having an ice storm. It's already about an inch collected on the lines and trees and still coming down. 10 miles up the road it's snowing. We are sitting directly on the line between freezing rain and snow. Bummer. We will probably lose our electric and we are all electric. May have to dig out the kerosene heaters that we bought for emergencies. They are still in the boxes. For once I'm jealous of those of you who are getting snow.

The worst one time snow I remember here was the first winter I was here - it was around this time in 1983. I was working at the radio station and got snowed in there for 3 days.

Then a couple years later we got back to back storms. But usually Dover seems to escape - they either go south or north of us.

while I usually envy those getting the snow - I never envy those with ice - I hate ice storms.

Good luck - stay warm.

Hi Nan, sorry you're getting ice - that's no fun at all. We're up to at least 8 inches by now and it's still falling fast and furious.
