The embarassment and controversy that is likely to arouse, both now and for decades to come may persuade Rome that the miraculous interventions of the blessed Pavelich are merely coincidences after all.

I suspect they will be wary of the potential for embarassment in this matter. Particularly if they are making a play to be a bigger power in Russia and central Europe.
